La casa de Amada · La Habana
Situated at Calle Línea, an old avenue in which a tram circulated close to the luxury villas that had access to the sea in the 19th century, this amazing house, called Casa de Nicolás Alfonso was owned by it’s original inhabitants from 1880 until some years ago, when Mercedes Alfonso passed away. The house was part of the cuban film “Amada” and also appeared in Robert Polidori’s amazing book “Havana”. Now it is property of Wifredo Prieto, a cuban contemporary artist who is restoring the house to transform it into an art space. These few pictures where taken on September 2017 just before the restoration process and show the beauty of it’s extreme decadence.
